ABOUT ME

My name is Giancarlo Vaccaro, and I am from Toronto, Canada. I’m currently a senior, majoring in communications at Drexel University. Soccer has always been my greatest passion and the center of my life. My ultimate goal is to play professionally after graduation.
This blog brings together my passion for the sport and my academic interests. I’ll explore soccer’s infrastructure, economics, and media presence in Europe and Asia and then compare it to how the sport operates in the United States. By analyzing these differences, I hope to uncover why soccer hasn’t reached the same level of impact in the U.S. as in other parts of the world.

What makes this blog unique is its blend of personal perspective and research. It’s designed for soccer fans, players, and anyone curious about the sport’s global reach. I want to go beyond the surface and dive into the systems and cultures that make soccer thrive in some regions and then struggle in others.

The content will feature a mix of personal insights, in-depth research, and interviews with current and former soccer professionals. I aim to provide a well-rounded view of the sport’s cultural, economic, and developmental impact by connecting with people from different parts of the soccer world. Whether you’re a long-time soccer fan or just someone interested in understanding soccer on a deeper level, this blog will have something for you.
